Our Practice
Nothing satisfies us more than watching a child grow into a healthy, well adjusted adult.
Nothing satisfies us more than watching a child grow into a healthy, well adjusted adult.
At Kids R Us Pediatrics, we know that kids are not just little adults. Their healthcare needs are as unique as their personalities. Our team consists of a pediatrician and pediatric nurse practitioner who are specially trained in the uniqueness of pediatric medicine to offer care from birth through adolescence. We care for well children, sick children, medically complex children, those with ADHD, asthma, eczema, ear infections, strep throat and everything in between!
The foundation of any lasting relationship is trust. At Kids R Us Pediatrics, we want to learn what factors might influence your child’s health and development so that we can tailor our advice, education, and overall treatment plan to best meet your needs. In doing so we hope to earn your trust and create a long term relationship with your family.
Welcome to Kids R Us Pediatrics!
I am thrilled that you are considering our practice to meet your pediatric healthcare needs.
As a young girl, I dreamed of becoming a physician and practicing medicine in a small town. As I progressed through college, medical school, and eventually, pediatric residency, the desire to practice at home became stronger and stronger. Though I practiced in Marshall County for several years, I started my own practice to focus on providing the type of care that I would want for my own children.
Hopefully you will notice a few themes as you explore our practice. I am focused on kids, of all ages, with a goal of building trust and relationships with parents to help them grow their children into healthy, happy adults. There is no one-size-fits-all medicine, and I want to create an environment where we personalize care to meet the needs of every child and family.
As a board-certified general pediatrician, I have been trained to provide a wide variety of care. During my residency, I focused my elective time in a couple of areas of interest, including pediatric dermatology, pediatric pulmonology, and lactation services, so that I could offer a deeper level of care, hopefully preventing families from driving long distances to specialists unless it is truly needed.
Those who know me best know that I love to learn and I enjoy teaching the families I serve about their child’s illness, diagnosis, and their anticipated developmental milestones. When you leave my office I want you to feel confident in the diagnosis, treatment plan, or what to expect from your child going forward. My passion for teaching extends beyond my patients as I am also a preceptor for Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine.
When I am not in the office, you can find me spending time with the loves of my life: my husband Dusty and my two children. I’m a big kid at heart, I cry at sappy old movies (yes, even the ones I have seen 100 times), I hate long walks on the beach, I love to dress up for Halloween, my house is often a disaster, I really don’t like to cook and I love all things Disney!
I hope you will give us a chance to earn your trust! I can’t wait to introduce you to the rest of the team, because teamwork makes the dreamwork!
Sincerely,
Tonya Miller, MD, FAAP
