To make our practice accessible to all families in the community, we are proud to accept Medicaid and most major insurance plans.
Well visits are an important part of your child’s overall health! We follow evidence based preventative guidelines endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. At each well visit we will evaluate your child’s growth and development to make sure they are meeting the appropriate milestones for their age. We will also evaluate their vision and hearing.
For school age children, we screen for academic difficulties as well as behavioral issues. Adolescence brings new challenges and concerns, so as we continue to evaluate growth we also observe for onset of puberty and screen for emotional issues such as depression and anxiety.
You can expect routine vaccinations or procedures at periodic visits.
Your baby’s heel will be pricked at the 2 week visit for the newborn metabolic screen.
Your baby or toddlers’ finger will be pricked at the 9 month and 2 year old visit to screen for anemia (low blood count) and lead (exposure to toxin).
Your baby will receive vaccines according to the schedule endorsed by the CDC and AAP. We use combo vaccines when available to decrease the number of needle sticks at each visit. Routine vaccines are given at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 4 years, 11 years, and 16 years.
