We do not only want to see you when your child is sick! Well visits are an important part of your child’s overall health. We follow evidence based preventative guidelines endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. At each well visit we will evaluate your child’s growth and development to make sure they are meeting the appropriate milestones for their age. We will also evaluate their vision and hearing.
For school age children, we screen for academic difficulties as well as behavioral issues. Adolescence brings new challenges and concerns, so as we continue to evaluate growth we also observe for onset of puberty and screen for emotional issues such as depression and anxiety.
With regular well child care, many issues can be identified early with proper treatment and intervention to follow. Well child checks are required at regular intervals until age 2 and annually thereafter until 18 years of age for our patients.
We understand that when your child is sick, you’d like for them to be seen in a timely manner. We are not a walk-in clinic, but we do offer same-day sick appointments for established patients during our regular office hours. Please call us to schedule a same day appointment.
Most pediatric concerns can be diagnosed and managed in our office. However, if your child needs specialized care we will discuss this with you and coordinate the referral for you.
We ask that you communicate with us if you are going to be late or need to cancel an appointment. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in the need to reschedule your visit. Not showing up to a scheduled appointment prevents other patients from being able to schedule that time for needed visits. Therefore, multiple missed appointments will result in dismissal from the practice. With few exceptions, we will not reschedule patients who miss their first appointment with our practice.
We know that life is busy and that all of us have many obligations every day. We understand the need to stay on time, and we strive to do so. On occasion there are unexpected issues that arise which cause us to be behind. Usually these are related to patient care. For example, a patient prior to your visit needed more time for a complex issue or needed to be seen urgently because they had breathing difficulties. We will do our best to communicate with you if we are significantly behind so that you are never left wondering.
We understand that kids get sick at night, on weekends, and on holidays! Our pediatric triage nurse is always available when the office is closed. If the triage nurse cannot offer advice, Dr. Miller is always on back-up call.
In addition to our triage nurse, we also have a symptom checker and dosage calculator available to all of our patients. These tools can help you assess how serious your child’s symptoms are, whether you need to see the doctor, and how you can provide relief.
What’s not to love about quick and easy bill payment? Using EasyPay means no more juggling your kids and your credit cards, counting cash for your co-pay, managing paper billing statements, or mailing your payment. We take care of everything for you!
When you have a co-pay, you don’t have to do a thing. We will charge your credit or debit card on file and email you a receipt for all co-pays, as well as outstanding balances under $50. It’s that simple.
For any amount over $50, we’ll contact you directly before we charge your card. If you approve the amount and want to pay it all at once, we’ll process your EasyPay as usual. It will be your choice.
When you use EasyPay, you save time, money, and trees! You help us use less paper, which helps both our environment and our community.
We swipe your credit card once, and that’s it. Your payment information is encrypted and stored in your account, just as it is at any reputable online retailer.
Complete the form below and bring it with you to your next visit.
Please bring your child’s current insurance card with you to each visit. This helps ensure that the proper information is processed, and the appropriate insurance is billed for that day’s visit. If your insurance changes, it is your responsibility to update information as necessary.
If your insurance requires a co-pay, it must be paid at each visit. The co-pay must be paid by the person who brings the child in for the visit, via phone prior to the visit, or via EasyPay Agreement (strongly encouraged). A $15 late fee will be added to any co-pay that is not paid on the day of service.
If your insurance plan has a “deductible”, this amount is your financial responsibility. We are able to verify the majority of deductible amounts on the date of service and expect payment for this amount on the date of service. A minimum of $75 will be collected on the day of service.
Vaccines are one of the most important services we offer as a pediatric practice. We follow the schedule endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control.
We understand there may be times when you have questions or are hesitant about certain vaccines and we are here to help! We will gladly answer all of your questions about vaccination. If you ultimately decide that vaccines are not right for your family, we will ask you to find a different pediatric medical home.
Antibiotics treat bacterial infections, but not all illnesses are caused by bacteria. In fact, most illnesses in children are caused by viruses. Our promise to you is that we will use our pediatric diagnostic and exam skills to determine if your child needs an antibiotic, and if they do, we will prescribe the correct one and the correct dose. We do not routinely prescribe antibiotics over the phone.
